In December 2025, the National Energy Screening Project (NESP) transitioned to NASEO. NESP works to ensure consistent valuation of distributed energy resource (DER) investments across the energy planning paradigm, from DER programs and resource procurement to distribution system planning, through its nationally recognized National Standard Practice Manual (NSPM) benefit-cost analysis (BCA) framework. As states work to meet growing energy demand while maintaining affordability, reliability, and sustainability, NESP’s tools can play a vital role in shaping sound investment and policy decisions.
